Never mind the piddocks

I now have a favourite mollusc – the piddock. I’ve seen their angel-wing shaped shells on my local beach but, until this week, I had no idea just how amazing this sea creature is.

Piddocks make their homes by burrowing into rocks – which is quite amazing when you think that their shells are so fragile.

For this week’s feature I was delighted to chat to marine biologist and fellow piddock enthusiast Tim Ferrero.
